Re: Bootsound Replacer for 6.60?
There isnt one for 6.60. I suggest downloading 5.50 prx's and using one of the most up to date boot sound replacer. You will have to edit the 5.50 opening_plugin.prx and add the sound you want into it. then copy and paste that opening_plugin.prx into a 5.50 theme. Then convert the theme to 6.60. Then take the opening_plugin.prx and put it into the theme you want.

Re: Bootsound Replacer for 6.60?
lol, thanks. I'm about to post a guide and such. This is gonna take awhile.
[edit] Download [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
It contains, a 5.50 theme, a fresh opening_plugin.prx, and bootsound replacer.
hmm, you're gonna have to download and install goldwave v5.52, there might be an updated version, but download that one becuz im currently usin' that one & I can be more "exact" in navigating you through it. hmm, this is the hard part....your goldwave needs to support ATRAC3 attributes. so when u are done installing goldwave, navigate to where you saved the goldwave folder and while inside "file" tell me what you c in it. I forgot how to add that support to goldwave, but i think it was a file i put in it to make it work.
This does look long, but when you do it a couple of times, the process will take less than 15mins.
Now for the steps.
1. Pic a music file you want to be the opening boot sound. Edit it with a music cutter app. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. The length should be about 7-10 sec's(the opening_plugin.prx wont play a lot of the track thats why). When done editing, save it as a ".wav" file.
2. Open up goldwave v5.52, now open your wav file you just saved. Now, save that .wav to a different location and make sure to copy the settings i have in the picture.
The key difference is the ATRAC3.
3. Start the boot sound replacer(lol, i just realized that there was no need for the openingplugin i just sent you. i keep forgettin that. You can delete that now). Now, when you c "please select firmware", click on 5.50. Then, click on "browse" and find the .wav that you saved with goldwave. Then click save, and save the opening_plugin.prx to a place where you'll find it.
You're halfway done. I assume that you have the latest ctftool gui and can convert themes to 6.60 "manually".
4. Start up ctftool and extract the 5.50 theme to a spot where you can find it. Then copy and paste the opening_plugin.prx that you created into the 5.50 theme. 5.50 theme>module>copy here. Of course you'll be asked if you want to replace the current one, just replace it.
5. Now, build the theme with ctf tool. Its version will be 5.50. Now convert that theme to 6.60. When thats done extract the 6.60 version. Then navigate to the the 6.60 themes module folder and copy the opening_plugin.prx. Paste it into the theme you want it placed in. your theme>module>paste here.
Now your finished.
If its hard for you, i can do this for you, but i wont be able to complete step 5 for you since i cant convert themes to 6.60.

RoXante would you mind making a tutorial on how to make a ctf theme. I'm sure some of us on the forum would like try and making one

Re: Bootsound Replacer for 6.60?
Thanks for the rep. I tried to keep the tutorial as clean as i could.
Well, theme makin', of course is not easy and there are still some things that theme makers dont know about what goes into makin' a theme. I just finished a FF XIII-2 theme, but im 90% satisfied with it.
It would be tough creating a guide on "creating" themes, but i can link ya'll to a guide on programs needed and where to get them. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Re: Bootsound Replacer for 6.60?
RoXante thanks for the link.
I'll try my luck with it lol
I once asked Bou to show me how to make them, but he said he didn't have the time. I have 3 themes he made for 6.20, but he told me not to post them online

Re: Bootsound Replacer for 6.60?
it's not that I don't want to share^^; it's just that those themes are personal.
I personally know Kyo, so I didn't mind when he took them from my old Desktop

Re: Bootsound Replacer for 6.60?
Well, it seems Pat Pat is gone.
Pat Pat says:
"Unfortunately, my home were robbed, my books, PSP, and Laptop (source code) have been plundered. Which means that all my PSP-related software such as CXMB, CTFtoolGUI, etc... may not be updated to 6.60, sorry friends. I have been working on the PSP unknowingly for three years, three years! Thanks to you for your continued support, perhaps you will see me on the PSVita, goodbye. :-)"
He made the mistake of not backing up his stuff.

Re: Bootsound Replacer for 6.60?
It shouldn't take that long for the Vita to be hacked. Hackers are already messin' with the dev kits that were released months ago(And are doing great so far). I think I posted news of that here.
