Sony - Microsoft: A project in common?

According to the sites to find information on domain names, we learn that Microsoft has recently registered two domain names, Microsoft, Sony.com and Sony Microsoft.com . These names are reserved for the time being and contain no content, however, a whois on the domain name lets you know the identity of the owner, who is none other than Microsoft Corporation .

Strange, is not it? The two competitors we prepare a project they have in common?
